I love Chicago. I spent time there growing up and always loved trips into the city where I’d gawk at (what was then) the Sears Tower and make myself dizzy. To me Chicago has always been vibrant and had its own distinct culture, more so than in a city like Washington DC. In fact, I’d have to say that the only American city that I felt had more of a personality was NYC.

Plus, they’ve got Giordano’s Pizza. How can you not love that?! The amount of cheese is just ridiculous.

So I’m always excited whenever my plans return me to the windy city, and thankfully I was able to take my camera with me last time. I still feel a bit uncomfortable with “street photography” and the awkwardness of photographing strangers, so as you might have guessed these shots feature more buildings than people. That’s definitely an area where I need to improve personally, and push myself out of my comfort zone a bit more, so that I can better captivate that culture that I enjoy so much.

For now, enjoy these shots, and let me know what you think in the comments below!
